All of our team have Outdoor First Aid qualifications, completed safeguarding training and hold enhanced DBS.

Dave.

Dave is a Director at Out There Adventures.

Dave has worked in education for 28 years, after a career in the British Army. He has been a Teaching Assistant, Teacher and Headteacher working predominantly with children displaying challenging behaviour, using the outdoors as a vehicle to teach social skills.

He now works as an education consultant specialising in behaviour, advising schools and coaching teachers,.

Dave has level three qualifications in Forest School, Bushcraft, Primitive Technology and is currently completing the Certificate in Advanced Wilderness Therapeutic Approaches.

Barry.

Barry is a Director at Out There Adventures.

Having worked as a nature reserve warden and a parks and countryside ranger in a local authority, Baz studied for an HND in Arboriculture / woodland management and worked as an arborist for several years.

Barry has over 15 years’ experience working in learning disabilities and has worked for a variety of mental health projects in the North East gaining Mental Health Practitioner status. After entering education, he gained qualifications in autism and SEN as well as gaining a counselling qualification.

Barry also taught in a school for young people with behavioural and mental health issues.

Barry is a level three forest and beach school leader as well as a WILD Passport certified trainer. He is a passionate believer in the importance of natural learning and therapeutic interventions and positive risk taking in education.
